Accutane Pills (Isotretinoin)

Accutane (Isotretinoin) is applied at treatment of nodular-cystic acne at patients after ineffective result of treatment with other forms of medicines.

Accutane Pills should be taken 2 times a day with food. Take it with water, milk, or other liquid without alcohol. All prescriptions of your treating doctor should be followed.

The dosage is defined by the doctor according to the reaction of organism on Accutane. The dose can be varied depending on the process of treatment. In a case of positive reaction to treatment with Accutane, it may be possible to stop treatment before its end.

After the ending of treatment with Accutane, it is necessary to make a two-months gap. In the case If acne still have not disappeared after 2 months, the second course of Accutane treatment may be prescribed.

It is not recommended to take alcohol in any form during treatment with Accutane.

Isotretinoin (Accutane) represents one of vitamin A. Accutane decreases the amount of the dermal fat, which is produced by sebaceous glands and boosts natural skin regeneration.

Pharmacological action:
Isotretinoin (Accutane) is the bioactive type of vitamin A, synthesized in the organism in small amounts. Isotretinoin (Accutane) does not directly linked with the retinoic acid nuclear receptors, as well as their subtypes (alpha, beta and gamma receptors). Isotretinoin (Accutane) in short time is transformed into a tretinoin (trans-retinoic acid) and other ligand- substances of nuclear receptors of retinoic acid and breaks expression of the gene, causing changes in protein synthesis (in dependance from the state of tissue - either induction or inhibition). Isotretinoin (Accutane) Reduces the number of products of sebaceous glands, thus reducing amount of Propionibacterium acnes (Isotretinoin (Accutane) itself doesn’t possess with antibacterial effect). Anti-inflammatory, keratolytic effect and anti-seborrheic action, stimulates the process of regeneration, depresses the terminal differentiation of keratinocytes. Interaction of Isotretinoin (Accutane): Tetracycline antibiotics, corticosteroids reduce efficiency of Isotretinoin (Accutane). The simultaneous use of drugs that increase photosensitivity, with Isotretinoin (Accutane) (including sulfonamides, tetracyclines, thiazides) increase the risk of sunburn. The simultaneous use of other retinoids (including acitretin, tretinoin, retinol, tazaroten, adapalen) increases the risk of hypervitaminosis A. Tetracyclines (including minocycline) at joint application with Isotretinoin (Accutane) increase the risk of high intracranial pressure (simultaneous application of isotretinoin is not recommended) .

Take a drug as soon as remember. In a case if time of the next drug intake has come, don’t take the medicine. It is necessary to wait for the next intake of a drug.

Store Accutane at temperature of 77 degrees by Farenheit (25 degrees C) in protected from high temperature, moisture and light place, away from children and pets.

Don’t administer Accutane (Isotretinoin) in case if:

You have an allergic responses to components of Accutane; You are going to become pregnant, you are pregnant at the current moment; You are breast-feeding.

Important:
Do not donate blood if you are using Accutane and during 1 month after you have finished treatment with Accutane.
Don’t drink alcohol in any form during treatment with Accutane.
Aggravation of acne can be observed in the first part of treating course. If it has happened – don’t stop treatment.
For prevention of dryness and fractures on lips you may use wetting cream. Don’t plan any cosmetic procedures for a skin during Accutane therapy and within 6 months after finishing of treatment.
Your skin can be hyper-sensitive to the sun, when you are using Accutane. Avoid to stay on the sun for long time, don’t use ultraviolet lamps, do not use sun decks until you don’t know how your skin reacts on Accutane. Use a sun-protection cream or wear protective clothes if you staying outside for a long time.
Contraceptives (e.g. Progestinum) can be less effective if you are taking Accutane.
Accutane can affect on Saccharum level in a blood at patients with diabetes.

Interaction of Isotretinoin (Accutane):

Consultation with attending physician is required if any of these common side effects occur more often than usual:

insomnia; respiratory tract infection; bleeding or swelling of the gums; increased hair growth; changes in menstrual cycles; chapped lips; dizziness; dryness in your eyes and mouth; dryness in nose that may cause nosebleeds; increased fatigue; congestion; general discomfort; thinning of hair; headache; itch; irritability; perspiration; transient worsening of acne; voice changes; peeling and dry skin; reduced tolerance to contact lenses.

Seek medical attention urgently if any of these severe side effects occur:
fever, hives, rash, yellowing of skin or eyes, labored respiration, bruises on the legs, swelling of the mouth, lips , face or tongue, strange or aggressive behavior, bowel pain, pain in chest , dark urine, depressive state, hard or painful swallowing, difficulties at moving, hyperdipsia or emiction, fastened heartbeat, weak or brittle bones, increased intracranial pressure (pressure inside the eye, sickness, vision changes, vomit), pain in joints or back, leg swelling, muscle pain, nausea, rectal bleeding, dyspnea, cramps, congenital defects, severe headache, skin infections, abdominal pain, stroke, ringing in the ears, growth inhibition in children, thoughts of suicide, vision changes, diarrhea, tightness in the chest.

Accutane Pills is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people.
